Generally, there are three methods of half model boat making - planking, carving from a block of wood, sculpting from a wax or clay. I use mostly planking method (the way the real boats are made) unless the plans for the boat cannot be obtained and the model is made only from a photograph. In that case I make it by carving from a block of wood. The half model can be hung directly on the wall or it can be mounted on a base. Prices are $250 - $500, depending on difficulty of the boat design and size. Size is usually 20 - 40 cm (8 - 14"). Please call 250-850-1022 or email bartadesign@yahoo.com for more info.
